The State of Connecticut has enacted new
legislation (SN 2001(6)) beginning July 1, 2011 regarding sales tax
on services rendered in the evaluation of hazardous waste or other
contaminates of air, water or soil.
Due to this change, starting July 1, 2011, our services will be
subject to a 6.35% Connecticut Sales Tax. If you are not the
end user (if you forward your results to your client- i.e.
engineering company, tank pull contractor, etc) then you must
provide us with a resale certificate so that we will not charge you
tax. You will charge tax to your client directly. If you
do not provide us with a resale certificate, we are mandated to
charge and collect sales tax.
If the work is for a government agency, then an exempt certificate
must be provided to us. If you do not provide us with an
exempt certificate, we are mandated to charge and collect sales tax.
Both the resale certificate and exempt certificate can be found in the useful links page
Complete Environmental Testing, a NELAP accredited
laboratory, is proud to announce that we are now certified by the
State of New York.
The addition of New York certification accomplishes our goal of
providing our clients with laboratory services to Connecticut and
the bordering states.
At CET we are continually improving and expanding our laboratory
services to better serve your needs. New York certification is
another step in this process.
We are pleased to announce that CET is now
certified by the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation
Conference (NELAC) and holds certifications for CT, RI, MA, FL and
NY.
Complete Environmental Testing (CET) is pleased to announce that we will provide the Data Quality Assessment Worksheet (DQAW) upon request. At this time, CET is offering this service at no additional charge. A note must be made on the chain of custody indicating the DQAW request. The worksheet is provided in an Excel spreadsheet format and will be sent via e-mail. Please note an e-mail address must be provided.
Data Quality Assessments enable you to document or summarize any data nonconformance. This helps in understanding the uncertainty associated with the data for all types of decision making, while giving you better insight of the data limitations as decisions are made.
The worksheet will include quality control deficiencies associated with the data package. Additionally, this will provide an easy way for you to evaluate the quality of the data as well as being a tremendous timesaver for you and your staff.
Please Contact Tim Fusco if you have any questions or need more information.
