...DATA MANAGEMENT

CET utilizes Analytical Automation Specialists (AAS), LABWORKS' Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) as the core of our labs' operations. It is responsible for such tasks as tracking sample holding times, sample status, and project due dates. Additionally, the LIMS serves as our repository for all of our data. Because all of our data is handled through the LIMS, we can routinely provide electronic data without the delays and errors associated with re-entering data into multiple programs. CET is licensed to run this program on an unlimited number of workstations.

CET chose the LIMS package because it is the most comprehensive laboratory management program available. It was developed by a team at LABWORKS that had an extensive background in both chemical laboratory practice and software development.

The LIMS is not only easy to use, but is one of the most powerful systems available. Processing samples with LIMS is simple and easy, virtually eliminating paper records.

SAMPLE LOGIN
When a technician logs in a sample, the following occurs:

The LIMS assigns the sample an identification number and generates a summary of tests to ......be done in each work area.

Using the information generated, LIMS prints a receipt and, if required, a routing sheet for ......each work area involved.

LIMS can also print barcode bottle labels.

SAMPLE SCHEDULER

The LIMS Sample/Bottle Pre/usr/home/cetla1/www/htdocs/old_homedircheduler is a calendar-based application that manages our projected workload. The program:

Assigns sample time by month, day, hour or minute

Assigns event times to execute programs such as label printing, sample schedule, etc.

QA BATCHING

The LIMS provides flexible QA Batching to meet both simple and demanding QA/QC requirements. Batches can easily be created to assure data quality. We can:

Batch by test
Batch by group
Batch by project
User configured QA tests
User selected QA intervals
User specified QA calculations
User configured QA reports
Validate by QA group
SQC charts on QA data

MULTI/usr/home/cetla1/www/htdocs/old_homedirAMPLE RESULTS ENTRY

Our technician simply fills in the appropriate blanks on the computer generated work order. Upon completion of each work order, the technician is menu prompted to enter test results directly into the computer.

We can enter results of mass spectrometer or chromatographic test with a click of a mouse ......with AAS' instrument interfacing. You simply identify the analytical results files desired, ......then transfer them directly to LIMS. No time wasted, no transcription.errors.

LIMS permits us to convert our own intelligent instrument results files to LIMS files. We can ......use either preset or custom instrument interfaces.

LIMS performs automated calculation of data with spreadsheet simplicity, eliminating ......technical math errors.

LAB MANAGEMENT
Backlogs
Convenient backlog reporting provides insight to the volume of pending work, as well as providing the information necessary in meeting our client's deadlines for samples and tests.

Progress Reports
Progress Reports (work status) provide quick, password protected, read only access to laboratory information insuring the integrity of our client's data.
